Product Overview

The Ringmat Anniversary Real Ale Gold Spot is a much improved version of the standard Ringmat. It looks very much like the standard Ringmat, but with the addition of a "Gold Spot" disc and special cut-outs to reduce resonance. It is also a much darker color, due to beer grains in the mash instead of cotton flock, this new color should particularly appeal to those who like real ale. Fractionally thicker overall than the previous edition, the Real Ale Ringmat's additional 0.1mm extra thickness may require slight adjustments to your turntable. The actual Gold Spot is said to be very powerful. The cut-outs dissipate more energy, further protecting the delicate stylus/record interface. The best Ringmat improves clarity, speed and timing of the sound, locking the imaging into a stable situation. Top-end performance becomes much more natural. Soundstaging cues are more defined. You will absolutely hear the improvements immediately. This one very serious analog upgrade.

    Expensive but the best

It is a lot of money for a platter mat, but the results are really good. I had already gone from the standard felt to a rubber/cork compound mat which gave a big improvement. I then bought this based on reviews and it really made a difference, the biggest change was at the bottom end, where the bass lines really tightened and became very clear. I would definitely recommend. I have a quite heavily modded Rega RP3 that this is used on.

    Believe your ears

I have a AR Turntable with an Audiomods tonearm fitted with a Nagaoka MP-200 cartridge. Before buying this product, I had and Analogue Studio Leather turntable matt. As soon as this product was in place I could hear the difference with such an improvement to the detail and space of the instruments. I had to adjust the VTA of the tonearm, but this has been one of the best upgrades I have bought. Shipping was quick, but I must add that I had a "your item is on it's way" email after I got the product, though the packaging was excellent.
