Product Overview

Mains distribution blocks have been the subject of many enquiries ever since the interest in mains quality was spurred by the publication of Ben Duncans Pure Power and Super spur articles. If you have paid serious attention to the quality of the mains current reaching your hi-fi you may still be falling at the final hurdle. Unless your willing to install a whole wall full of 13A sockets you need a distribution block to provide enough outlets for the hi-fi system and ordinary four-way strips are definitely not up to the job. Even some so called Audiophile units still have extraneous components and messy wiring. But we have found one that really works. Our distribution block is metal clad for good RF screening has an easily re-wireable input lead (with capacity for an extra gauge lead) un-switched with no neon and wired internally with massive 4mm cable. In other words It has the features needed to avoid dynamic limitations caused by mains wiring.

    solid, straightforward multiway socket adaptor

Fairly chunky metal box and good thickness internal wiring. No filters, neons or fancy bits - just a decent way of connecting lots of items to a single wall socket.
They do supply loose cable which you have to wire into the inlet, unfortunately this cable is fairly weedy, so was replaced by a thicker one I generally use.
Still have to be careful to plug items in that won't draw too much current and overload the plug that goes into the wall socket (especially as there can be 10 items!).
Does it affect sound quality? I don't think so but don't really have the inclination to phorensically analyse this aspect.
Quick delivery and well packaged item.

    10 way mains block

The picture on the website is very small and I cannot seem to enlarge it. It seems to show a 6 way block wired onto a 4 way block, to make a total of 10 outlets, which is what I wanted. When an enormous 10 way block arrived I was very surprised and quickly realised it was too big for my installation, and the wall mounting tab at one end was bent during delivery. The quality though is good as I already use a 4 way, but I have no idea whether this will ever be used because of its size - my mistake.

Incredibly solid and well-made mains block

This mains block is HUGE (pity there isn't an 8-way option for those of us for whom 6 sockets are too few), but that's the only real criticism I can offer. It doesn't have a glitzy appearance, but why would you want that? The block is easy to wire (the cable comes separately, but I used a length of 2.5 sq. mm Supra Lo-Rad) and has well-spaced, tight sockets, plus a separate earth terminal for installations that need this. So far as it's "sound" is concerned, it obviously doesn't have one but everything connected to it just seems to perform better. Good value, too.
