For those on a budget the Moth MK1 OEM RB202 will offer astonishing performance for its price. This is a high quality British made tonearm which will excel on any turntable. It is installed as standard equipment on the high performace Moth Alamo turntable and is also the choice of many other turntable manufacturers.

Thought it was about time I upgraded the arm on my venerable vintage STD 305M TT. Expecting a challenge I could be not be more wrong, with the supplied mounting template fitting was a breeze, with the arm fitting in every respect ! So onto listening and I was not disappointed ! Detail extraction was of the highest order with minimum sibilance on female vocals. A really balanced sound emanated from the Arm with no prominence across the audio range, always a good sign! Top end was focused and sweet with just a slight tizz on some cymbals exhibited. Mids were revealing and holographic with great separation especially with voice and Horns. The best for me though was the botton end - full of clout, punch and extension allied with a superb articulation and tunefulness! This Arm was designed to music and it does it in spades !! Wholehearted 5 Stars. Partnering equipment.
Cartridge - Ortofon OM20 Super

The arm installed easily. The protractor which came with the arm was accurate. Records sound better than ever. Thank you!

I finally took the plunge and decided to go with the Moth MK1 as it appears a better bargain than some of the other entry range arms. When compared to a friends Rega RB202 there are no differences at all in looks or perforamnce. My only reservation now is that I maybe should have gone with the incognito rewire at the same time.
